Zoho Flow vs Zapier vs Make
Zoho Flow vs Zapier vs Make: which automation tool for a Zoho-centric business?
If your business runs on Zoho, you will meet three names when you want apps to talk to each other: Zoho Flow, Zapier and Make. Review sites rate them on different scales, so those scores do not compare. This guide sticks to what each vendor's own page says, notes where the billing units differ, and ends with a decision rule that is our judgment, not a vendor claim. Skyfall Labs is an official Zoho Partner and has a commercial interest in Zoho projects; vendor facts are limited to the cited pages and change often, so verify on each vendor's page.
Statements below come from the Zoho pages listed under Sources, read 2026-10-14. Zoho changes its pages, plans and prices, so confirm current details with Zoho.
What each vendor says about itself
Zoho's Flow page says it integrates 1,000+ cloud and on-prem apps, lets you write custom functions in Deluge, and can trigger workflows from polling APIs, webhooks, templated emails and RSS feeds. It also says there is a free plan with a limited feature set and 100 automation tasks per month.
Zapier's pricing page describes connecting 9,000+ apps, and says its free plan includes 100 tasks per month with two-step Zaps only. It also says premium apps are available only on paid plans.
Make's pricing page describes Core, Pro, Teams and Enterprise plans and a free plan with 1,000 credits per month.

The billing units are not the same
Zapier says a task is counted whenever it successfully completes a unit of work, that failed actions are not counted, and that many actions cost more than one task. Make says credits are its billing unit, that every time a module in a scenario performs an action it consumes credits, and that most actions cost 1 credit. Because the units differ, a workflow with many steps can cost very differently in each tool. Run your real workflow volume through each vendor's own pricing page rather than comparing headline numbers; this guide quotes no prices.

Why review-site scores do not help
Aggregator sites rate tools on their own scales, from their own reviewer pools, at different times. A 4.7 on one site and a 9.3 on another say nothing useful when compared. Use them, if at all, to read individual reviews about your specific app combination.
A decision rule (our judgment)
This is advice from experience, not vendor documentation.
- Mostly Zoho apps talking to each other: start with Zoho Flow, since it is the same vendor and the same sign-in, and it supports Deluge for custom logic.
- A mix of Zoho and many non-Zoho apps: check each tool's connector list for the exact apps and actions you need before committing.
- Complex, multi-branch scenarios with heavy data handling: price a realistic month of runs in Make and Zapier, because credits and tasks accumulate differently.
- Whichever you pick, look at what happens on failure and who gets alerted. Silent failures cost more than subscriptions.
Where native Zoho features are enough
Not every automation needs a third tool. Workflow rules, Blueprint and custom functions inside Zoho CRM cover many in-CRM cases. Reach for an external tool when the work crosses apps.
